4 On-Trend Statement Accessories You Need This Season

There’s truly nothing like a good statement accessory that makes any outfit pop. I love fashion and have definitely been a passionate style lover since I can remember… but you know the truth, 60% of the time, I’m lazy… and don’t look like any of my stylized outfits. Normally, I’m wearing a staple uniform… and my trick to “vamping it up” to look stylish? A good statement accessory.

Every season (or even multiple times a season), I go on a statement accessory pilgrimage haha which basically just means I haul a bunch of accessories I know will make my “lazy” outfits look chic and on-trend. And of course, every season, the the trends change; but in stead of buying whole new wardrobes, I pick up these on-trend accessories that automatically change up my on-repeat looks.

Sharing 4 of those trends with you here and a round up of some of the pieces I’ve already picked up (on the cheap, because y’know, a girl’s gotta save):

1

VELVET

Velvet everything this season. It came into my life hard in the fall, but velvet and I are in the full swing of love. I love that the texture is bold and luxe, but also has a softness to it (quite literally). I love wearing it from day to night, and it adds just the right amount of subtle interest to an otherwise not-so-interesting outfit.

SEQUINS

Because girl, you deserve to sparkle! I must have gotten this from my dad – he loves obnoxiously loud things… but I love the way sequins make you look like you’re dancing in the light. The great things about a sequin accessory? Wear it from day to night. Doesn’t need to be a fancy occasion, because you fancy all the time!

CHOKER

This guy is here to stay. Bringing back the 90s in full swing – woot woot! The choker seems to be that accessory that makes any outfit automatically feel “cool” and “effortless”. I love adding it to just about any lower cut top/dress to add that badass flare.

CATEYE

Probably the shape of frames that looks good on just about everyone. The dramatic cateye this season will turn you in an all black uniform into the chicest badass B on the block.

I love that statement accessories change up your look so effortlessly, and best of all, on a budget. Add a $20 pair of sequin earrings to a velvet dress, and you’re looking like a million bucks without breaking the bank.

And who doesn’t look looking like a million bucks on a fraction of the cost, right? Listing all of my favourite pieces this season below and wishing you a sparkly, and inspiring, day friends!
