Blogger Night Out: Holiday Hair Pampering (Ft. Marc Anthony Haircare)

There’s a lot of things I love about the holiday season, but the thing I love the most is being able to carve out time to spend with the people I love. Most of Dave and my time is spent with family, and a lot of my gal pals head out of the city to visit theirs, so finding time to celebrate with each other before the joyous chaos begins is paramount.

Most of girlfriends are bloggers and the truth is that the holiday season is one of our busiest. It takes a lot of coordinating to get everyone together amidst the busy schedules, but I’m so glad we did! Even bloggers need a night out to just have fun (and not stress out)! And I have to say, I think this year’s Holiday Blogger Night Out was totally an epic one!

Holiday Blogger Night Out with Marc Anthony Haircare

I had the incredible opportunity to round up my girls and spend a night together with Marc Anthony Haircare. I worked with the team at Marc Anthony to put together a night we knew the girls would love… and it definitely felt like a success (measured exclusively by volume of laughter, size of smiles, and number of hair-flips haha). The night started with meeting the girls at Marc Anthony Salon, here in Toronto.
As we trickled in, we were greeted by the most overwhelmingly beautiful set-up. The salon itself is beautiful, but balloon streamers, champagne, and the most welcoming salon staff made it all feel absolutely perfect. Picturesque would be an understatement! Our night continued with a full styling session, with a dedicated stylist for each girl. There’s nothing like a customized hair styling sesh to truly make you feel like a princess.
My hair – having been bleached, coloured, and pushed to its limits this year – can always benefit from an extra little TLC. And girl, did it get it! My hair has never felt silkier.

*More on what products got it there and what Marc Anthony Haircare products I’m now obsessed with below.

After getting our hair done, we had the incredible experience of watching the musical Grease (who else loves this movie?! I used to watch it on heavy repeat). It was such a magical night…

Upon arriving at the salon, we were greeted not only by the warmest welcomes by the salon staff and gorgeously modern decor, but by all the Marc Anthony Haircare products that I had either heard so much about, or have loved for ages! Learning about new products is something us nerdy bloggers love bonding over. I learn so much for my blogger gal pals – tips and tricks, at home remedies, and obviously the best go-to products.

Monika and I were chatting about the Coconut Oil line, and I had a crazy revelation that I had already been using the product for ages. Dave actually bought these bottles for us 2 years ago, when I had bleached my hair for the first time. Hearing so much about coconut oil, he went out and bought the product by the litre. We’ve been using it ever since and had no idea!

Coconut Milk (Sulfate Free) Volume Shampoo + Conditioner

Marc Anthony stylist Mel (so cute right, Mel squared), and I decided to perfect my beloved beachy waves, in a way that would leave them more conditioned, silkier, and not so crunchy. She used the Coconut Milk Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, that not only cleanses, but also strengthens, while adding volume, to restore my dry, dull, and admittedly, damaged hair.
I love the way that the products feel like they really cleanse my hair, but don’t strip it. It feels soft, light, and super silky afterwards. Another great thing is that it’s sulfate, paraben, and DEA free – all things I’m super aware of, given the sensitive state of my strands. I’m always on the hunt to add a couple more products into my colour-safe repertoire.

Hydrating Coconut Oil Repair + Detangle Leave-In Conditioner

This beautiful finishing product was new for me. I had never tried it before, but after Mel used it on my hair, I knew it was love at first spray. After all the bleaching, my hair has quite a bit of breakage. It makes for frequent tangles (which, when combing out, can cause even more breakage). This light-weight detangling mist left my hair feeling moisturized and definitely helped the styling process.

Hydrating Coconut Oil + Shea Butter Volume Hairspray

After Mel perfectly twisted my waves into shape, she used the Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil + Shea Butter Volume Hairspray. I was a bit hesitant at first – I’ve avoided hairspray like the plague after having bleached my hair (I just hate the feeling of it being crunchy, and I don’t wash my hair that often). But this waterless hairspray didn’t leave a crunch at all. It didn’t leave my hair stiff, didn’t flake, and didn’t have any residue. On top of coconut oil and shea butter, it also contain Biotin, which retains moisture in your hair as you style. Combined with humidity shield, UV Protectors, and free of sulfate… this baby is SUCH a win.

What else do 4 bloggers do after getting their hair done? Head out for a night on the town! We had the amazing experience of going to the Elgin Winter Garden Theatre to watch one of our all time favourite movies on broadway – GREASE! I mean, who’s favourite movie wasn’t Grease?

Throughout the entire show, all of our hair stayed meticulously in tact… and I have to say, I think we gave Sandra D a run for her money.

The entire experience was an absolutely joy. It was the perfect blogger night out – yums, laughs, smiles, sparkles, gorgeous hair, and amazing friends. Nights like these make me so grateful for the people and partners in my life. What else could a girl ask for?
