Holiday Festive In Crimson & Gold

There’s nothing like the holiday season to make you feel like the world is the happiest place in the universe – besides malls of course, those places are hell holes in the holiday season. With all the festive going-ons, you’ve got a million and half outfits to plan and even more excuses to dress up (although, TBH, you never really need a reason).

If you’re reading this now, we’re way passed the holiday season, but I figured I would prolong the sentiment just a little more by posting up one of my favourite holiday looks from my line up. This entire look cost me about $50 – and yes, these ornate shorts are from that store in the mall that might make you think “ew, trashy”. BUT let me tell you, if you’ve got an eye for it, you kind find some awesome gems in there.

SHORTS (Urban Planet, $15). Clutch (Vintage, $5).

Yes. I also totally sucked it up and braced the cold by wearing shorts and tights, and for that, call me crazy. It was indeed freezing posing for these photos. But for those house parties that make you end up sweating a storm, it was perfect. Pairing the shorts up with a loose blouse was totally my excuse to hide that turkey belly that we all get (I swear Adriana Lima gets it too).

The clutch was a gem I found at a thrift store. It was a couple years back when people still thought vintage, thrift, used, etc. was dirty. Let’s just say it was before Macklemore’s song. Now it might be a little tougher to find a patent leather clutch for $5, but I’m still a firm believer that if you dig, you shall receive.

BLOUSE (Zara, $29.90). STATEMENT NECKLACE (From a little collection in the works).

I hope your holiday season was phenomenal and that the festive spirit carries into the new year for you. If not, well, you can always go back to wearing black.
