There’s nothing more special than that heirloom passed down through generations. It could be the dinkiest bauble but it will always mean so much more to you than any diamond or piece of gold. It’s because they’re like pieces of jewelry with hidden meanings. I’m a firm believer that jewelry is supposed to carry meanings with them – they should have a soul and a voice. You carry them throughout the day and even though they’re the smallest piece you may have on, they often either make or break your outfit.
I’m a huge sucker for any jewelry with meaning for this reason (although my gold necklace from my Popo, grandma in canto, will of course never be replaced). Honestly, if you told me that an orphaned child in Africa designed a piece in memory of his late mother or something, I would buy your entire stock up (e-commerce platforms, don’t get any scammy ideas here). In all seriousness though, I think consumers tend to forget that a piece is designed with the inspiration of something behind it. We buy things because they look cute, or they’re on trend, but are they jewelry with hidden meanings?
Alora Boutique x Mel Inspired
I recently had the pleasure of discovering a jewelry brand that really designs from the heart. Their jewelry really does carry with them, hidden meanings. But what’s more is that they actually share this with you when you buy the pieces. You automatically have some sort of attachment to it and it makes you style it from the heart (if that’s even a thing 
, I’m really mushy gushy sometimes). The piece above (in gold) that I layered up with my Tiffany and Pandora chains, is called their “Antelope – You Are Beautiful” necklace. Its hidden meanings are carrying beauty in your heart and celebrating a woman’s ability to be comfortable in her perfect imperfections. PERFECT RIGHT?!
For those of you that know me well, you’ll know that I’m a huge believer in women being independent, successful, and confident entities. Not that I think men aren’t, but there’s nothing like a good power couple to really get me going – two powerful, confident people partnering as a team. Dayum. Anyways, this is definitely my favourite piece from the boutique.
Alora Boutique recently launched their “Safari Collection” which is littered with pieces with beautiful hidden meanings. Not to mention, they’re made from recycled metals (doing that good stuff for the world 
) and they’re HANDMADE in Canada (two words you can never go wrong with in my books).
I truly love what Alora Boutique stands for and hidden meanings behind their designs. All their pieces are actually made by a mother-daughter duo (Emilyn and Jameela) and they goal is to make sure their collection speaks the message of positivity, love, and kindness. Tear! The symbols they use are all inspired by their roots and Ghanaian heritage and speak to finding your inner beauty. LIKE HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!
Their jewelry is so versatile from day to night and from one style to another. They’re also layer-friendly, so they’re both trendy and customizable. You make a set that speaks to you! I love all of this because it truly makes me feel like my purchases are really going the extra mile, y’know? I styled 3 necklaces, 1 pair of earrings, and 3 bracelets in 4 different styles… talk about versatility 
The way I styled them was really inspired by their hidden meanings and how the pieces spoke to me. Jewelry’s hidden meanings are like perfume, it doesn’t feel the same on everyone! I can’t wait to share all the looks with you and all the other pieces I got. I couldn’t wait for next week so I decided to kick off the campaign with this little sneak preview.
