Tribal Inspired Pieces That Will Get You Going

When trends tell a story, it makes it that much better. They can almost make you transcend into another world or feel like another person. It’s like a costume you can put on, try out, immerse yourself in, then remove.

Fashion is all about telling a sort of story and playing with new trends in your personal style is a big part of that. It’s exploration.

Tribal fashion isn’t that big right now (or not that I’ve personally noticed), but I’m noticing that the types of accessories coming onto the market definitely have some tribal types of influence. I know, I know, so fashionably scientific of me right… there’s probably a legit name for this. And let me know if I’m completely off on this! It’s just what it reminded me of!

I’ve been in love with how some of these tribal types of accents and accessories have me thinking about the culture and people where it originated from. On a completely unrelated note, I think that when we embrace and are more conscious of other cultures, we become more inclusive people. That’s probably why I love the trend so much.

When I was shopping around, I absolutely couldn’t resist this choker-anklet pairing from Le Chateau.  I put it on and the way that it danced and rang with my every move made me fall in love. Plus, I’m a sucker for a good choker – which is why I’ve got a little project surrounding them coming to your necks and eyes soon wink emoji

Naturally, it inspired a full look. This will be a strange way to describe it, but I see it as a tribal-safari look. Africa is also super up there on my bucket list, so that probably influenced the inspiration a bit.

The top is also from Le Chateau and, naturally, is off the shoulder because it’s probably the most awesome trend this season (I think half of my tops in heavy rotation right now are off the shoulder monkey emoji). It’s so comfortable and doesn’t pinch at my shoulders – the only thing I hate about off-shoulder tops. And, of course, it’s subtle khaki green is reminiscent of that safari vibe.

I paired it with a pair of pleated beige shorts that I’ve had in my closet forever, from Forever 21, but have never really worn. Tucking your skirt in a bit always gives a nice relaxed vibe to it all too.

The best part of this outfit though? These bomb AF wood detailed platform slides. They are legit one of my favourite purchases this whole season. The wood detailing is amazing, but the comfort on these bad boys are a whole other story. It’s also part of Le Chateau’s Italian design collection, so the make on them is perfection. Best part? They’re only $80. So if you’re looking for a platform for the rest of the summer season and something to transition you into fall – your prayers are answered with these guys.

PLUS – THEY’RE SLIDES. And y’all know I love the slip-on-and-go situation. The smooth band is all leather and it’s got a man-made sole to them. The 2″ heel also makes it super comfortable to walk around the city in too. This may just make me revoke my ban on heels in the city. LBH, who’s got the time or energy to trek around in stilettos from meeting to meeting. Not me.

What I definitely took away from this entire look? The fact that I seriously need to go visit a Safari in Africa soon. Naturally, this entire outfit will be coming with me  emoji

Do you love these tribal inspired vibes as much as I do? What do you think of the accessories?
