Hair colour has always been something that’s really liberated me. Growing up, I always had my dark black hair that my parents would never let me change. If I got a haircut, it was always just a trim – never anything drastic.
Now as an adult and proudly in charge of my own choices when it comes to my hair (haha), I’ve been having so much fun changing up my hair colours and styles… almost constantly. I find that, just like outfits, our hair is an expression of who we are, what we feel, and what we want to say to the world. I love being able to express those things through my hair colour.
So last year, I embarked on exciting journey – one that actually comes after a really long winded hair disaster story. I partnered with Matrix and my Matrix salon, Calia Hair, for the latter half of the year to really take hold of the journey.
Find a Salon That You Trust
Finding the right salon to colour your hair is a choice made totally on trust. Believe me, I’m speaking from experience. I was so thrilled to try Calia Hair, here in Toronto, which is a flagship Matrix salon, and honestly, I feel like I have a whole new family. Spending hours on end in the salon, I was always made to feel at home, and I always knew that my hair was in good hands.
Matrix Salons
I love looking back on journeys, just like a travel diary. And today I wanted to look back on my hair journey. So here we go, 6 months, so many colours, and the most fun I’ve ever had with my hair:
Looking back on all the months, changes, and the fun we had, I’ve never been more happy with how my hair looks, and more importantly, how it’s made me feel. I can’t wait to continue having fun with my hair and colour! I also hope that if you’re in the same boat, or are nervous about hair colour, that you feel empowered to have fun with it. It’s a part of you, and there’s nothing better than feeling great about yourself (and your hair)!
