Life’s Little Problems & 4 Solutions To Get You Through Them (Ft. Biore)

Life’s not always sunshine and rainbows like our Instagram feeds might imply. It might look it from the outside, but that’s just it, it “looks” that way. The truth is, life isn’t perfect and it’s something I’m really starting to embrace.

Especially as females, life often throws us those #BigLittleProblems that just throw a wrench in our day. You know what I’m talking about – a pimple before a date, that “unexpected” period, forgetting your razor, realizing you didn’t get that bikini wax for the beach. True – they’re not the end of the world, and we know we tackle bigger problems than those, but I’ll admit, they’re annoying.

My Big “Little” Problem

For me, my skin is the biggest source of my #BigLittleProblems. Every time I think:

Amazing! My skin is looking bomb.com today. It’ll be flawless for that gala this weekend…

Well, I always break out night before the gala. I’ve learned to accept that my skin is volatile, indecisive, and definitely prone to hormonal changes. As such, I’m always on the lookout for those acne-fighting products that’ll help me keep my biggest “little” problem in check. The best part though? I know I’m not alone and a ton of us out there are struggling with skin that’s as indecisive as our old teenage boyfriends were.

When Bioré® launched their new acne fighting products, I was ecstatic to test them out. I’ve tried every acne solution under the moon and like to consider myself a pretty decent judge of character of them. Bioré® launched their Baking Soda and Charcoal cleanser and scrub, having formulated it to get to the root of acne-prone skin. It aims to attack the cycle of acne, and that’s a fight I can get behind.
Using salicylic acid (commonly found in my favourite acne products), the Baking Soda product exfoliates your skin (allowing your pores to be properly cleansed), and the Charcoal based products absorbs all the excess oils, balancing out those pimple-prone pores. The products claim to clear your complexion in 48 hours. I put it to the test.

Testing Bioré’s New Acne Fighting Products

Testing these products came at the perfect time. I’ve been traveling on back to back trips for 3 weeks straight and my skin was really starting to show it. Personally, I loved the Bioré® Baking Soda products, as my skin is more combination (over oily). The Baking Soda Acne Clearing Cleansing Foam felt really gentle on my skin and didn’t over dry my pores (that feeling where your skin feels too tight).  I also loved the way the Baking Soda Acne Scrub exfoliated my typically-sensitive skin without causing any redness. I’ve learned that exfoliating weekly is really important to remove dead skin cells that clog your pores. And this creamy exfoliator made my skin feel really smooth and fresh, without feeling uncomfortable afterwards!

After the 2nd day, my pimples looked a lot flatter. And by Day 3-4, those suckers were pretty much all gone. I’ve slid it into my daily regime and have been loving the way my skin has been clearing up.

Both products are $9.99 at local drugstores, which is a total score in my eyes! Functionality and affordability are 2 big ones in my book!

Inspired Life Solutions
For Some Of Those Other #BigLittleProblems

Now that my skin’s starting to get in check, on to tackling all of those other little problems in life. The way I see it, the less of these smaller problems we have, the more energy and time we strong women have to tackling those big problems in the world.

Problem: Cluttered Mind, Lack of Focus
Solution: Meditating or doing a simple yoga pose for 10 min. regardless of where I happen to be. Clear skin requires a clear mind too, right?

Problem: Waking Up and Having Nothing To Wear
Solution: Try spending a day (when you’re inspired) looking at your closet and putting together all of your outfits. Snap a photo with your phone and create an album to refer back to on those days you can’t find anything!

Problem: Feeling Down On Yourself, Unmotivated
Solution: Meditating or doing a simple yoga pose for 10 min. regardless of where I happen to be. Clear skin requires a clear mind too, right?
