THE NEW MUST HAVE SET: The Printed Suit

You guys know my love for blazers and suiting runs deep. I think the biggest portion of my closet is dedicated to suiting. When people ask where my suits are from or compliment the look for a suit, honestly, the only thing I can say is that

It is legit the easiest outfit to put together. It’s basically my “lazy” outfit

A well-fit suit, no matter what colour, what print, or what style, is always a statement. It’s one that I feel like makes you feel super confident, super sexy, and like that “girl boss on the go”. But beyond that, the reason why it’s the easiest outfit to put together is because IT’S ALREADY DONE FOR YOU.

All you have to do is accessorize (if you wish) and put a basic underneath it and you’re out the door looking like a million bucks!

When it comes to the new suit to have, it is, hands down, the printed suit. I own quite a few printed suits because I love the way that it makes a huge statement without much effort or thought. And what better way to ring in the new year than a new go-getter statement suit right?

This gorgeous scuba-material, floral, metallic adorned suit is one I know I’m going to have in my closet for a while. I picked it up from my suiting go-to, Le Chateau. If you’re new to the blog (welcome!), Le Chateau is legit one of my favourite places to pick up stylish suits. They make almost all of their suiting in-house at their head office in Montreal, Canada, and the quality of their pieces last me for years! I’ve had some of my suiting pieces from them for more then 5 years and they’re still the ones I grab when I have nothing to wear.

If you’re looking to pick up a printed suit yourself, here’s a few things to ask yourself and consider:

  • Where will I wear this most?
  • Do I plan on wearing this to the office and out of the office?
  • What colours do I feel the most confident in?
  • Do I like blazers that are double breasted? or single breasted?
  • Do I like my suits to be fitted or relaxed-fitted?
  • When I wear this, am I smiling?

I find that the above questions almost always help me figure out which suit is best tailored to me, my style, and longevity in my closet.

Whether you’re looking to impress at a new year party or just want to make a bigger statement going into the new year, a printed suit is the way to go!
