OUTFIT IDEA: Oversized Essentials

You’ve probably seen tons of people wearing these seemingly basic sweaters, hoodies, lounge pants, and t-shirts with the giant and simple logo “ESSENTIALS” written on it. And yet, the question remains: what is this Essential brand and why is it so coveted?

The answer is a simple one – hype. The hype around this brand comes from it’s exclusive and “buy it now or never” concept. They frequently do limited “drops” of their collection, with those pieces never to be seen or purchasable again. The next question, of course, is:

Is it really worth the hype though?

The answer is long and short. The quality of the pieces is wonderful (something inherited undoubtedly from their parent brand: Fear of God). I’ve found myself living in these Essentials pieces more than I’d like to admit. This is currently one of my go-to outfit combinations.

I typically purchase super oversized versions of Essentials pieces (and sometimes even pick up those pieces in the Men’s section). Paired with a pair of leggings and a beanie and the outfit is both comfortable and chic.
