REVIEW: Hotel Marignan Paris + Booking.com Coupon

Paris, oh Paris. You were, again, so wonderful to me. There’s just something about the air in Paris. Call it, je ne sais quoi, I suppose. And if you’ve ever been to Paris, I know you know how I’m feeling. We arrived in Paris on a Thursday afternoon. The clouds were looming, but the air of Paris was as romantic as ever. Vic and I had decided to book a last minute girl’s trip to Paris to shoot our fall editorial (coming to your eyes soon), and it was everything we remembered from our trip in May.

It was 4PM and we found ourselves amidst the lights and bustle of the Champs-Elysées. 45 minutes in a cab from Paris’ Charles De Gaulle airport, we arrived at our Parisian home for the week:

Hotel Marignan Paris Champs-Elysées

The last time we were in Paris, we lived in the West Bank at a cozy Air BNB. But being just the two of us this time, we wanted something closer, more in the city; and when the opportunity came up to review this property with Booking.com, it was the perfect fit.

Before I get into the nitty gritty of the spot, Booking.com generously offered me a little something to share with all of you to help inspire your next trip:

REVIEW

HOTEL MARIGNAN CHAMPS-ELYSÉES

When we’re browsing for any properties to stay in, we always make sure to keep a list of things that are important to us and do a ton of research online before making the decision. I’ve broken down each element below, but definitely loved being able to get a good sense of all the below via Booking.com first. We actually found Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées through Booking.com’s “Best Sellers in Paris” list and the reviews described it as:

Location was great. Wonderful staff. Boutique style. Incredible Views. 9.3 location score.

The above definitely caught our eye. But did it hold up to our expectations? What were the great things about staying there? Breaking it all down below:

Probably the most important thing when it comes to Paris. Whether it’s your first time to Paris or whether you come often, your location means a lot. We wanted to be close to top attractions (sunrise photoshoots and all), to shopping (and there’s obviously no better shopping than the Champs Elysées), and to the Metro (the best way to get around in Paris).

Nestled in the 8th district (arrondissement, en francais), the Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées checked off all of these. It’s a 8 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe, is literally around the corner from every designer store you’re looking for (and if you’re looking for an item in specific, you want to make sure you hit the boutique right when it opens), and has about 5 metro station entrances within a 2-8 minute walking distance.

The rooms at the Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées were designed to look like contemporary Parisian apartments and feature gorgeous details and finishings. It’s quite modern, but still maintains that French charm with its outer architecture and beautiful Parisian windows. We were able to stay 2 different rooms during our stay: Eiffel Tower Deluxe Suite and a Standard Deluxe Room. The Suite truly felt like Parisian apartment living. It was equipped with a beautiful ensuite bathroom, 2 double-door windows, and extensive storage space. The Standard Deluxe Room was basic, but, it’s good to note that in Paris, your expectations of size need to be scaled down. For the 2 of us, it was just enough space.

This is what you come to Paris for. You come to wake up to the Eiffel Tower, to see its lights sparkle at night as you close your eyes. This was probably #1 on our list when we were browsing Booking.com. Our first room had an incredible view of Parisian rooftops and the beauty herself. Our Standard Room faced the interior but still featured beautiful Parisian rooftops and faced French architecture, that even at its most basic, garners awe.

This is definitely what sets Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées apart from your standard hotels in Paris. Your room was not only cleaned to the T, attention was paid to every detail in the room. The doormen remembered your names if you gave them. The service desk welcomed you with a Bonjour and a Bon Soir each time you left and returned. They hand delivered personal items (ahem, tampons) on a silver platter. And, despite what you may have heard about Parisians, were friendly, welcoming, and spoke English to you proudly (I speak French, but noticed them servicing in English with delight).

Like most things in Paris, quality isn’t cheap. Mind you, Paris is not the place you go to to be cheap. Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées is a bit pricier than most, mostly because of its location. But if you’re not staying in Paris for long (anything less than a month), you want to do it right.

The reviews we read on Booking.com were spot on. We loved that it broke down everything in a way that was easy to consume. It listed out all the hotel surroundings, included what other travelers were saying about the location, and highlighted all the amenities super clearly. We also checked and it was either comparable or lower than the rates for Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées that we found on other travel sites.

This beautiful hotel will give you that Paris experience you’ve always dreamed of as a little girl. It did for me. And that is worth every penny spent on the experience. Until next time Paris and merci pour tout (thank you for everything) Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées. You were, utterly, and perfectly magnifique!
