As warmer days finally begin to approach (because it’s absolutely freezing in Toronto for 8 months out of the year), I tend to get really jittery and inspired to style up my spring/summer outfits. When I first discovered Alora Boutique and was chatting about styling this campaign, I instantly thought- YES! SUMMER OUTFITS. I’m like a kid in a candy store when it comes to throwing away my parka and shedding some of those layers. I’m so excited to launch these 3 looks throughout the week and hope that you enter the Instagram giveaway to win a set (earrings, necklace, bracelet) of your own from Alora!
Alora Boutique‘s Safari collection is made of recycled brass, but what I love most is that each piece is handmade in Canada. I won’t lie, I’m not the most eco or socially conscious consumer; but when I’m made aware of these things, I instantly feel more passionate and inspired to believe in the cause (I know that kind of makes me a band wagoner, but we all are sometimes, aren’t we?).
Because of its name, my first styled outfit was obviously going to be Safari inspired. Rawr. The earrings, featured here, are called the Safari Chic Masai Triangle Earrings and are inspired by movement. I love that they represent the joy in moving, dancing, and swinging. Isn’t that what life’s all about? Constant change, moving from one place to another, and trying to dance through it all gracefully?
Those of you who know me know that I’m only graceful when I’m really trying (or if I’m in a business meeting), but most of the time I’m the girl with crumbs on her face. My boyfriend is often found picking food off of me like we’re ape-mates #truestory and yes… I did just make this face to look like a lion.
Beyond the fun and positive inspiration behind the piece, I love their minimalism and attention to small details. Each piece strung through the triangle is completely unique and different – in size, shape, and angle. I love it. Your piece really feels like your own and not another pumped out number from the factory.
The jumper is an old revived piece from my closet and the pony hair satchel (I’m sorry PETA ) is a gem I found from a vintage store in Vancouver. I tried to keep it simple, after all, being on a safari is no joke (even if it’s a Toronto-safari). The outfit is super comfs and I feel like it spoke to the inspiration behind the earrings of fluidity and movement (I’m such a mush).
