Shopping for a girl is hard enough as it is, but shopping for a girl who’s independent, strong, and creative is even harder. If that sounds anything like a gal pal or woman in your life, I’m with you. So many of my friends fall under what I would call the “Girlboss” category; arguably, I would say most women do these days. All to say… it is so. so. hard. to find a meaningful gift for them (or perhaps, even yourself).
There are a couple of characteristics I’ve found to be successful in finding a product that every Girlboss needs:
Uniqueness, creative, and first and foremost, meaningful
And the above normally doesn’t come from a big box store. Never fear though, they do exist.

Dave and I are both long-time supporters and ambassadors for Oxford Properties (Scarborough Town Centre,Yorkdale Mall, Square One Shopping Centre, amongst others), and specifically spend a lot of time working with our friends at Scarborough Town Centre. One of the things we love most about our friends there is the sheer creativity they put into the activations they create for the shopping centre.
And their most recent GRL PWR activation is no exception. Crafted on the concept of an “apartment”, this shoppable exhibit-like pop up is the epitome of cool. Everything in the space is carefully curated with vendors that really fall in line with the female empowerment movement… and I’m here for it.
Each vendor that’s a part of the space offers such a strong message that honestly inspired me to put together this list. There are so many occasions where I sit pondering what to buy for that Girlboss friend. Luckily for me, the ideas were all in one place apartment:
Because a Girlboss is all about strong words. Finding a print you know speaks to her, her beliefs, and her passions will make this piece of seemingly mundane piece of paper, a true masterpiece in her eyes.
