LAS VEGAS: 7 Activities That Will Wow You

Viva Las Vegas! Viva Las Vegas! That is truly the resounding feeling you get from (albeit reluctantly) leaving the beautiful city that is Vegas. And holy moly, was it an epic trip… quite possibly one of the most epic trips I’ve ever been on. The only thing that can accurately describe it is – wow.

Truth be told, I wasn’t originally a big fan of Vegas. I had been tons of times in the past, but somehow it never inspired me beyond the casinos and the parties.

Boy, was I awfully mistaken. Vegas is so, sooooo much more.

My gal pals (and fellow bloggers) – Vic and Tee – and I had the incredible experience of visiting Vegas a couple weeks ago. And I have to say, I’ve never experienced Vegas quite so epic-ly.  In partnership with redtag.ca – one of my favourite travel agencies and often my first go-to checkpoints when planning my travels – the girls and I embarked on quite the week of adventure.
redtag.ca is actually the travel agency that Dave and I use the most. You all know how much of a sucker I am for a good deal, and I always find the best ones on my vacations through redtag.ca. I love that it’s easy to browse, I can read all the reviews, and the customer service is always on-point.

Check out redtag.ca, the awesome deals, and plan your perfectly on-point Las Vegas getaway here!

Speaking of on-point, this trip we went on embodied just that. I have no words for just how epic it truly was. But if you’re thinking of heading to Vegas, you’ll definitely want to check out these…

Girl's Shopping Date At Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Hotel

Ok, ok, so you might be thinking, what’s so special about shopping? The Grand Canal Shoppes, that’s what’s special. As you browse through the rows of shops, you’re also being delighted by opera, performers, acrobatics, and singing gondolas. It is at the Venetian Hotel after all. With every shop you could possibly dream of and more, this experience is so much more than your average shopping date.

If you’re looking for that lifelong Vegas keepsake, I’d recommend checking out Alex and Ani for their custom Vegas bracelets. Stackable and perfect to take home with you as a trendy keepsake! The girls and I built a set and I’m wearing it on heavy repeat!

Brilliant at the Neon Museum

If you’re a lover of the oldies like me, the Brilliant Show may just bring you close to tears. Transporting you back to the days of Frank Sinatra and Elvis, this light show made up of iconic and restored neon Vegas signs is absolutely breathtaking. Created by artist Craig Winslow, the 360 degree experience splashes life back into old Las Vegas through its vintage neon signs. Photos weren’t allowed during the performance, but here’s a sneak peak of what to expect. Being there is truly worth a thousand more words than these photos.

Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon Zip Line Tour

Doesn’t get any more adventurous than this! And dipping off the strip for the day is definitely worthwhile. I realized just how much there is of Vegas to explore! This zipline course is an incredible way to experience just that. 1.5 miles of ziplines across the gorgeous desert landscape, dangling over Bootleg Canyon is just what the Doctor of Adventure ordered.

Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Game

I hear you, I’m not the biggest sports fan either, but the energy of a game is infectious whether or not you like sports. For me, just being at the T Mobile Arena made my hair stand (since Dave and I are the hugest UFC fans). But the hockey game itself, boasting its very own, newly minted, Vegas Golden Knights team was incredible. The team is also off to one killer first season, defeating the Canucks (wah wah Canada) by an impressive 4-0. I must admit, I may have switched over to cheering for the Knights by the end of the game.

Seven Magic Mountains

You’ve seen it all over Instagram, but here’s your chance to see it for yourself. Seven Magic Mountains is nestled in the middle of the desert boasting colourful pillars that have become a worldwide sensation. It opened in 2016 and they’re still working out the kinks to see just how long they can keep them there. Until they do, you might want to book your trip to see them. It could just be a once in a lifetime experience!

The LINQ High Roller Experience

If you’re looking for the best view of Vegas, this is your winner. 550 feet above the centre of the Las Vegas Strip, the High Roller is the single largest observation deck with 360 degree views (even bigger than the London Eye)! It’s a full 30 minute ride and you’re certainly getting a bang for your buck with how just spacious it is up there. Talk about the best photo opp sitch, right?!

Ricky Martin at Park Theatre MGM

It’s Ricky, need I say more? His revival back into music is literally making my latin heart sing. Him and the entire production was beyond incredible, which isn’t surprising since Vegas is home to some of the most epic shows in the world. I danced off a couple of meals and may or may not have shook my bon bon and lost my voice. But whether it’s Ricky or any show in Vegas, you’re definitely not going to be disappointed.

For obvious reasons, we weren’t able to capture images during the show… but it’s totally ok, we were too busy dancing anyhow haha

Vegas, you deserve every fabulous word there is in the dictionary to describe you. The wonders, excitement, and joy this gorgeous city brings into people’s lives is undeniable and utterly inspiring. It makes you dream, it wows you, and it truly reminds you that anything you want is possible. Feeling wow-ed and swept away by how many incredible experiences there are to be had. But until next time, what happened in Vegas will stay in my heart forever.
