Gold or Silver – The Perfect Minimal Jewelry

This has been an internal debate for me for the past year – am I a gold or silver accessories girl? I know what you’re thinking, how trivial?! But in makes a big difference when you’re thinking about investing in your new big designer handbag and have to choose the hardware, or are thinking about possibly getting engaged and need to know what type of band you want.

See. Bet you have an answer to those questions, and if not, now are thinking about it!

That being said, I’m not quite at the spot to do either of those things right now. As a result, I’ve put the debate on hold and decided… y’know what, for now, I’m both. A silver girl and a gold girl.

And for the pieces I’m currently lusting over and am picking up, I’ve decided that I’ll just buy both!

That brings me to my most recent little haul from friends at Michael Hill.

Michael Hill actually makes it really easy to not have to decide whether you’re a gold or silver girl, because you can find gorgeous pieces for such a good deal, you might as well buy both! They’re actually having an end of season sale on diamonds right now and you can score huge.

Check out the Michael Hill Diamonds Sale

Given the new spring season upon us, I wanted to spruce up my “every day wear” jewelry collection. I ended up picking up a gold set and a silver set just to tame my ever indecisive gold/silver mind. Layered together, I love how they give that perfectly effortless minimalistic chic look.

IN GOLD…

I got 2 geometric layering necklaces – the Circle Necklace and Geometric Pendant. They’re both made in 10k yellow gold and were so affordable, it was a no brainer to get both.

IN SILVER…

I got the Geometric Ring, that is as intricately complex as it is subtle – a hard combo to achieve. It’s crafted in sterling silver and is accented with diamonds in the most delicate of ways. I love how it’s the perfect piece to dress up and dress down.

I complimented it with the 70 cm Filigree Necklace , also made in sterling silver (but at an incredible price of only $95). It’s light details along the chain give the long pendant a really rich and interesting vibe.

As much as I loved the pieces I picked up, I couldn’t help but stop and gawk at all of the other things on Michael Hill.

And of course, Dave and I have been together for a whopping 6 years now, so I also stopped by and browsed their Diamond Ring collection. Some links might have been sent his way – you gotta make sure they know what you want right?!

So for now, I’ll continue to ramp up my jewelry collection on both sides – silver and gold. But as life does, I’m sure I’ll be forced to make a decision soon. With May now upon us (holy crap!)… Happy Spring Jewelry shopping friends! You deserve something pretty for the new season!
