Navigating Whistler: 3 Day Adventure Diary

Dave and my pilgrimage to Whistler is starting to become an annual occurrence – not that we’re mad about it haha. There’s something magical about being on the west coast, breathing crisp ocean air, seeing the grandeur of the mountains, and catching a bit of a break from the east coast polar freeze.

Last year, we had the amazing pleasure of discovering all of the luxuries Whistler had to offer with our friends at Lincoln Canada, in a beautiful Lincoln Continental (one of Dave and my favourite luxury vehicles). This year, Dave and I had the honour of joining the Lincoln family (and fellow bloggers, like Brett and Alex) again. This time, exploring the gorgeous mountaintops with their new 2018 Lincoln Navigator.

Transparently, I was a bit unsure whether I’d take to the Navigator like I did the other Lincoln vehicles (the Continental is by far our favourite). I knew it would be top of the line in terms of luxury, but I’ve never really been a fan of large truck-like vehicles. I don’t know where that comes from though… probably not being a very good driver with them haha

Of course, I was proven wrong.

The new Lincoln Navigator is sizeable, but it drives like a dream, handles so well, and best of all, is suited up with all the right tech to make a driver (even like me) beyond comfortable driving it. The Lincoln Navigator has also inspired some thoughts in me around cars that I feel like I never thought of before:

Inspired By The Lincoln Navigator…

A Second/Third Row Might Matter
As Dave and I build out our house, something we’re thinking about is what our future might hold. And when thinking about a car… well, a 2 door sports car might not work if we’re looking to build a family. The Navigator sports a beautifully spacious second and third row (full with cabin features like one-touch-tilt) and slide second-row seats.
Heads Up Display
It might not seem like a big deal, but with Dave and I glued to our phones, it’s easy to get distracted. The Lincoln Navigator has all of the tech built into its dashboard sporting a a windshield-projected informational display.
Adaptive Headlights
Dave and I noticed this most while we were driving up the mountain late at night. The speed-sensitive LED headlights actually direct your attention towards where it’s needed on the road. Moving headlights that are arguably smarter than me? I need this in our snowy Canadian landscape!

On top of falling in love with the Navigator (and feeling the need to gush about it), I wanted to document all of the amazing things we did in the time we there and hopefully give you some fun ideas for a winter getaway. Navigating through the west coast mountains of BC has become our speciality… with a little bit of Lincoln Navigator help, naturally.

This car and the experience we had with it up in Whistler has completely changed my perspective of larger-sized vehicles. And I feel like I can actually picture myself in one now. Its reliability alongside luxury, and its ability to do it all and look fly as hell doing it, has totally inspired me that I may just be as badass as it is.

Thank you so much to our Lincoln family for bringing us up to Whistler again to celebrate their beautiful new Lincoln Navigator! I can’t wait to see where we’ll navigate to next!
