When are you the happiest in the day? If you say every moment of every day, I applaud your positivity, but I call bullshit! For a lot of people, their happy place (or rather, their relaxing place) is their beds or at home, right? I’m starting to learn that (because I typically hate staying at home).
My new found love for staying at home was inspired by saving money, as I’m putting down a down payment for a home soon; and the Toronto housing market is not forgiving on the wallet. Dave mentioned that staying home was a great way to save money and that finding something to do at home would help me still feel productive. I started and found that I didn’t need a pretty coffee shop to blog (although that’s still my preferred space to do so). I could do so in the comfort of home… and best of all? IN MY PAJAMAS.
That’s really what this post is about – loving your pajamas. I won’t beat around the bush. I totally dedicated an entire post to my love for pajama style. In all seriousness though, I’m loving the pajama trend. Any excuse to wear anything close to pajamas outside of the house has my vote 100%.
You all know my stance on comfort… and pajama style fits right into that. I’m pretty sure this isn’t my first dedicated post to pajama style – but think of it as an update
I tried something new this time – actually wearing something that resembles a pajama set. The two silky pieces are literally the exact same colour of beige and have that loose, billowy feel to them.
To vamp it up I added an olive layer to compliment but also add to the comfy drapery. This blouse dual-actions as a shirt-dress that I picked up on the cheap at the Nordstrom Warehouse Sale this past week.
And to give it a little edge, I layered on my favourite, go-to leather moto jacket from Rudsak. The spring is perfect for layering and let’s you strip way pieces you need and don’t need depending on how the day goes (and we all know that days in the spring, especially in Toronto, are super unpredictable).
Like most outfits, this pajama set needed a statement piece, a show stopper. For me, it was these perforated platforms from Le Chateau that I’m absolutely in love with. This Block Heel Sandal is actually made with Italian leather, so the feel of them is as luxurious as any designer shoe (for more half the cost, $180, of course, haha). There’s nothing I love more than a nice platform that’s as comfortable and luxurious as they are cool.
The perforated leather trend is so in this season, and I love how this pair doesn’t over do it. It also makes you look a thousand feet tall I’m all about the nude/beige coloured heels. These ones from Le Chateau I got last month definitely fall into the category What can I say, I like what I like!
I’m also obsessed with the straight lines of the block heel. It has a really luxe and modern vibe because of it. Not to mention, it gives you 5 inches of height… and doesn’t feel like it’s going to break your ankle in half
Beyond anything though, I think the most important thing about rocking the pajama style is actually your attitude. You don’t need chunky accessories or loud colours (in fact, that’d probably make me look like a clown haha), you just need a vibe. Gotta get that #feels in ya, y’know
For me, I feel like that’s what pajama style is all about. It’s about feeling so comfortable and confident, that you look effortless… even in your pajamas. And it works for everyone and every body type because it’s just about that – confidence. Your swagga knows no fear!
As a part of Le Chateau’s #CaptureLeMoment campaign, I wanted to capitalize on the fact that how you feel makes a moment special more than how you look, what you’re wearing, or where you are. You make your moment special but loving it genuinely, by feeling something in it, genuinely.
For me, that just happens to be my love for pajama style. I feel so comfortable, I feel like I can do whatever I want – climb rocks, run in heels, shop till I drop, go for a long road trip, take a nap… whatever!
I hope this inspires you to take that chance and experiment with your style by wearing your pajamas out. You’re gonna kill it, I can just feel it
